In the spring of 1936, Thompson Willett began construction of the Willett Distillery. The first barrel was filled and laid down for maturation on March 17, 1937, St. Patrick’s Day. After falling dormant in 1980 and later being purchased in 1984 by Martha Willett, the founder?s granddaughter, and her husband, Even Kulsveen, the distillery resumed production on January 21, 2012, under its original name following extensive renovations. Made from a mash bill of 72% corn, 13% rye, and 15% barley, this expression is a true ode to the glory of corn. Long afterward, the aromas rising from the dried residues in the empty glass offer a vivid testament to this identity.
